Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin’s oldest buildings and a place of pilgrimage for over 1,000 years. Guinness Storehouse

Guinness, the flagship brand of Irish beers known all over the world, has had its own museum in Dublin since 2000. After its closure, the renovation began to transform the place into a museum retracing the history of the brand (from its creation to advertising, including the evolution of the bottles, its creator…), the ingredients used and the stages of manufacture of this legendary beverage worldwide. The highlight of the visit is the panoramic bar, the Gravity Bar, in which all visitors are entitled to a Guinness or a soda while enjoying a splendid view of all Dublin. A must-see!

Kilmainham Gaol Museum

A guided tour of Kilmainham Prison (Kilmainham Gaol, in Irish), one of the largest unoccupied prisons in Europe, provides an overview of recent Irish political history and the Irish rebellion. Prison reveals a lot. This is a popular excursion: you can’t buy your tickets in advance, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s a good idea to arrive early.

Farmleigh House and Estate

Built in the late 18th century, the Farmleigh House was purchase in 1873 by a great-grandson of Arthur Guinness in 1873 becoming one of the Dublin residences of the Guinness Family. The house is a fine example of Georgian-Victorian architecture. It contains many beautiful features such as the Main House, the Clock Tower, the Lake and the Library. This latter one holds some of the finest examples of Irish bookbinding from the last three centuries.

Garden of Remembrance
